In spite of the war, we decided to increase our influence and assist troubled communities. As part of volunteering at the "Koby Mandell Foundation" for bereaved children, we hold weekly robotics classes for 4th to 6th graders from all over the country. The classes teach construction and programming and show how robotics can be a tool for building resilience and empowering communities.

In 2023, we started volunteering at the Elifelet Association with refugee children, running weekly robotics sessions equal to 16 FLL Explore teams. The sessions were on seasonal themes and consisted of building and programming tasks, igniting the children's passion for technology. This year, we reached 200 children in 40 Explore teams and a special FLL team in their region.

"Sailing Together" is a combined effort with other institutions, working with varied populations. We brought STEM topics to deaf students at Niv School. Beit Hanna was introduced to robotics by youth and adults with disabilities. At Beit Kimchi camp, children on the spectrum programmed and activated robots. Even an institution continued to conduct a weekly routine activity.

Our FIRST Lego League Challenge team, Doctors #964, was founded in 2013, followed by Delta Team #1098 in 2017 and Catskill #2982 in 2021. Engaging over 50 students annually, we emphasize mentoring, community outreach, and promoting FIRST values. Alumni inspire younger generations, expanding our impact through events, collaborations, and support for FLL Explore teams.

We collaborated with the FGC team from Ethiopia to create an FTC team that will introduce dozens of students from all over Ethiopia to robotics. We are now collaborating with them on training sessions and a business plan for the competition next year.

In October 2023, following the onset of the “Iron Swords” war, we launched the “Waves of Hope” project in order to ease the nationwide stress among children and teenagers. The project included 42 different STEAM-related lectures and activities, organized by experts and volunteers alike, which were attended by over 2,000 participants. This initiative boosted morale and provided a pleasant distraction during such a challenging time.

Since 2022, we have co-organized the annual Tel Aviv Robotics Festival, Festibotica, alongside FRC teams MA 5951, Greenblitz 4590, D-bug 3316, and Vulcan 3835. Hosted at Tel Aviv Port Market, it features FRC, FTC, and FLL robot driving stations, numerous science experiments, and FIRST info booths. It is attended annually by over 700 children and parents.

Since our team’s founding, we have helped organize Science Night at our school. During the event, we operate experiment stations, present our robot, conduct FLL activities, and promote science and technology. Since 2021, the event has been dedicated to the memory of our teacher Orly Liron, inspiring curiosity and encouraging participation in FIRST programs.

In 2022, we spoke out against LGBTQ+ discrimination through the JDY (Just Do You) project, in collaboration with Team Vulcan 3835. We attended the Pride Parade, raised awareness, and fostered acceptance within our teams. This initiative reduced prejudice, promoted inclusivity, and inspired annual participation in the parade to support equality and the LGBTQ+ community.
